Power Self-Synchronization Control of Grid-Forming Voltage-Source Converters Against a Wide Range of Short-Circuit Ratio

Power synchronization control (PSC) tends to destabilize the VSC connected stiff grid. For addressing this issue, paper proposes a novel scheme named as power self-synchronization (PSSC), which enables operate under grid conditions with short circuit ratio (SCR) from 1 infinity. Similar PSC, proposed method also includes loop, voltage and current loop. Yet, PSSC-based VSC(PSSC-VSC) can be self-synchronized without three-phase detection. In PSSC, output of loop is fed back calculate instantaneous power, applied in By eigenvalue analysis, participating factor impedance-based parameters PSSC are well-designed robustness different obviously improved. Moreover, PSSC-VSC inherits characteristics grid-forming converters, theoretical analysis for validated by experimental tests.
